Jehovah’s Witnesses…

Yes, I know what a lot of you are thinking right now. 🙂

They knock on your door and wants to discuss “our lord jesus” and when you tell them to go fuck themselves, they want to sell you a book.

This cult is not only bat shit crazy, it is also cherry picking the bible, using only a third of it.
They don’t allow blood transfusions to their kids, they don’t allow you to leave, once you’re in… not that it matter if you should die or even be in the cult, only a few of them are allowed in anyways (144,000).
But what is true about them? What do they believe?

Let’s take a look.

Founded in 1879 by Charles Taze Russell. Russell concluded, among other things, that the second coming of Christ would occur in 1914, that Hellfire did not exist, and God was not a Trinity.
Today, there are 6.4 million practicing Jehovah’s Witnesses worldwide. Witnesses are very active in evangelism and missions, both in the group’s original home of the United States and throughout the world.

They reject blood transfusions because of the New Testament command to “abstain from blood” and they do not vote or serve in the military.
Witnesses reject the symbol of the cross, do not celebrate any traditional Christian holidays, and do not celebrate birthdays.

Jehovah’s Witnesses look forward to a theocracy, in which all human governments are abolished and God rules the entire earth himself.
Although Witnesses once predicted specific dates for this event, they now state that “the Bible does not give a date for these events.”

They condemn sex before marriage, adultery, homosexuality, bestiality, incest, and the use of pornography as “serious sins before God.”
Masturbation, anal sex and oral sex, whether done within marriage or not, are deemed as unnatural, unclean, and sinful.
A person is to avoid even thinking of these things.

The February 8, 1995 issue of Awake! stated with regard to homosexuality:
“True, some individuals may very well be prone to homosexuality… a Christian cannot excuse immoral behavior by saying he was “born that way.” Child molesters invoke the same pathetic excuse when they say their craving for children is “innate.” But can anyone deny that their sexual appetite is perverted? So is the desire for someone of the same sex.”

  1. Thanks for posting!
I was born 1957 3rd generation JW and have NO shame speaking out against the Watchtower cult abuses.
Number #1 lie of the Jehovah’s Witnesses is the date for Jesus return aka second coming October 1914.

  2. I am not with the JWs, nor do I defend such an organization.

    (1) Charles Taze Russell was not the founder of the Jehovah’s Witnesses. Russell did not believe in, and he preached against, the kind of authoritarian organization such Rutherford created after Russell died.

    (2) Russell did not believe that Christ was to return in 1914; in 1876, Russell concluded that Christ had return in 1874, and Russell died in 1916 still holding to the belief that Christ had returned in 1874. From 1904 onward, Russell was expecting the time of trouble to begin in 1914; he died in 1916 still holding to the belief that the time of trouble had begun in 1914. Russell was never expecting the JW kind of Armageddon in 1914, as he believed that Armageddon is a period of time in which the people of the nations are chastised, not eternally destroyed as Rutherford taught.

    (3) Russell’s effort was to harmonize the entire Bible, without adding the traditions of men.

    (4) Russell did believe that “hellfire” is a mistranslation of Gehenna. Russell did, however, believe in the Biblical hell: sheol, hades.

    (5) Russell never taught anyone to reject blood transfusions.

    (6) Russell never rejected the symbol of the cross, the celebration of birthdays, etc.

    (7) The Bible itself condemns fornication, adultery, homosexuality, bestiality and incest.

    (8) The trinity dogma would, if it were true, negate the Biblical basis of the ransom sacrifice of Jesus.

    (9) The Bible itself fortells the coming “theocratic” govenment.
